- okay i'm just back from pre u sem. i feel qt dead.
i shall try to type out a blow by blow of what happened, but i can't promise accuracy :p sadly tho, i'll be using names u all won't know. i'm too lazy to type out schools as well.
first day: we all met at school at 12plus and fooled ard taking stupid photos. gave the presenters our presents. it was so funny! they kept suaning us for bringing comfort items, but it wasn't really for us. it was for them. haha. then we went to ntu and checked in. first mishap - i realised the photo on my tag was amanda's. haiz. so that created a heck lot of trouble. then i went to my room. the room's not bad. basically it consists of two beds, two study desks, two wardrobes and some shelves. and a fan. i was a bit apprehensive abt who my room mate wld be tho... turns out my room mate was this RJ girl, sam. haha. then after that... the events of the 1st day are a bit mixed up alr. maybe it's because i'm a bit off today.
2nd day: had to wake up at 615 to dress in formal attire. went to the main lt to listen to the opening ceremony and believe you me, it was really boring. haha. thank goodness i was sitting with good company. widad, muni, weiling and andrew kept me awake (barely) and then we went for tea. their tea was...beyond fantastic. really. it was SO GOOD. -drools in memory of the chocolate eclairs- one thing about pre u sem - they don't let you get hungry. they feed you 6 times a day. breakfast, tea, lunch, tea, dinner and supper. yep. i nv ate so much in my life nor did i not want to eat so much in my life. strange for me, no? :p okay, then we had to go for parallel presentations. this, for those who don't know yet, is the brain child(s) of the various schools. could be a presentation, skit, talk show, whatever. it shows off that you know your topic. NJ rocks! i'm so proud of our presenters :D then Q&A. i have to admit, i didn't understand 3/4 of the questions asked. they were like, "according to.....it is known that.....and thus...... my question is.......what is your opinion?" yea. long convoluted questions. and the answers weren't much better. i think they cater to people smarter than me. yea. then after that, we came back to the hostel for lunch, then changed to PE stuff and went to the gym in NIE. (okay, i don't really know what it is but it looks like a gym)and then we learnt the first mass dance. JJ's mass dance is so cool la... compared to what i saw of this yr's mass dance, it's damn funky. haha. then we had a long long long boring talk on kites. so terrible! it was like, the entire history of kites and random trivia abt aforesaid. wahhh.
3rd day: again up at unearthly hours to dress in formal... i have terrible blisters that burst, that is the result of wearing unholy high heels. those stupid guys (note the paradox) were like "why is it so painful? only high heels what!" especially that stupid andrew, just because he knows his feet will never ever fit into any of our shoes. -curses- i just hope i can wear the shoes ltr. haiz. had two panel discussions. panel discussion means 4 big shots go up there and talk, then Q&A. had lunch, then we went for more parallel presentations. alamak. this time i almost really fell asleep x_X went for another scrumptious tea (i will really miss the food there...) then had small grp discussion over IJC's case study. lol. the fun part came when we finished early and then nadz went up to do the win lose or draw thing. so damn funny la!! her drawing is...interesting at best and horrific at worst. for instance, she tried to depict "paris hilton" by drawing an eiffel tower that looked like fish bones. for "madagascar" she drew a doughnut with a smiley face in the centre connected to a body. this was supposedly a lion. we all were laughing so hard we couldn't breathe. it was really hilarious. after that we went back to the hostel and had dinner, then changed and started doing our kite. lol. we just kinda fooled ard with the sticks and paper. then we had supper and then we crashed the guys' rooms. it was really squashed. i kept reiterating that i wanted to play cards until they gave in. haha. i played bridge with yao kun, ivan and andrew. my luck was super good la! won 3 out of 4 rounds :D eeeheehee. so we went to sleep at abt 1 plus... qt normal alr. lol.
4th day: we submitted our kite (that looked like a capsule inspired by the singapore flag) and went to CDANS for bowling and golf (-_-") the only thing i learnt was that i suck at both... haiz. that andrew helped me bowl two gutter balls la!! he's a national bowler!! haha. owell. after that we went back to the hostel for lunch and then to woodlands for kite flying. haha. alaric was so bad, he kept trying to sabotage other kites. owell. most of the time i just sat in the shade cos i started to feel not so good alr. :( anw, after that we went back to the hostel for dinner, then go to NIE for seminar night. like angel said, "it's not seminar night, it's SEMINAR NIGHT!! WOO!" (i quote her verbatim.) hard to believe it was just the night before last. okay, because of my brother nagging incessantly, i shan't go into details but suffice it to say that it was like, one of the best nights of my life. i felt that the group really connected and that we all appreciated the SLOs more. :D
the last day: got fever 38.5, thought it was bad alr. then after that i went to the sick bay. the SLO in charge was so nice la. she wasn't feeling so good herself but she still ran to and fro for us. so touching. then fever went up to 39.7 then 40.1. so they rushed me to a clinic and then i went home. yep.
that's abt it for now. i gtg off for cca!! i'm so thankful. temperature as of today 36.8. thank God! i can go for taman warisan!
